پاکستانی سفیر ڈاکٹراسد مجید خان کا دورہ ہیوسٹن، امریکن پاکستانی فاونڈیشن کی تقریب سے خطاب ، کمیونٹی کی اہم تنظیموں کے قائدین سمیت دیگر شخصیات سے ملاقاتیں
ہیوسٹن (ارد و نیوز )امریکہ میں پاکستان کے سفیر ڈاکٹر اسد مجید خان نے امریکی ریاست ٹیکساس کے شہر ہیوسٹن کا دورہ کیا ۔ سفیر کو امریکن پاکستان فاونڈیشن (اے پی ایف) کی 10 ویں سالانہ تقریب کے موقع پر خطاب کرنے کی دعوت دی گئی۔ امریکن پاکستان فاو¿نڈیشن، پاکستانی امریکن کمیونٹی کو مضبوط بنانے اور پاک امریکہ تعلقات کے فروغ میں کردارادا کرتی ہے ۔
تقریب سے خطاب کے دوران ڈاکٹر اسد مجید خان نے فاونڈیشن ، خاص طور پر اس کے چیئرمین ریاض صدیقی اور صدر شمائلہ چودھری کی جانب سے کمیونٹی کو اکٹھا کرنے اور نوجوانوں کی صلاحیتوں کو بروئے کار لانے کے اعانت کو سراہا۔ انہوں نے پاکستان امریکہ کی موجودہ صورتحال پر بھی تبادلہ خیال کیا۔ دوطرفہ تعلقات ، علاقائی سیاسی صورتحال نیز پاکستان میں معیشت کی بہتر صورتحال اور سلامتی کی صورتحال کے حوالے سے مختلف و اہم پہلووں پر روشنی ڈالی ۔ انہوں نے اس بات پر زور دیا کہ پاکستان تعلیم ، جدید زراعت ، اور توانائی سمیت تمام شعبوں میں امریکہ کے ساتھ پائیدار شراکت قائم کرنے کے لئے پرعزم ہے۔
سفیر نے خاص طور پر اس رشتے کے مثبت راستہ پر زور دیا جس نے جولائی 2019 سے صدر ٹرمپ اور وزیر اعظم عمران خان کے مابین تین سربراہی سطح کی ملاقاتیں کیں۔ انہوں نے بھارتی مقبوضہ جموں و کشمیر میں بھارت کی وحشیانہ کارروائیوں کی مذمت میں پوری حمایت کے لئے برادری کا شکریہ ادا کیا۔ خاص طور پر امریکی کانگریس میں۔
اپنی دیگر مصروفیات میں ، سفیر نے ممتاز پاکستانی امریکی سید جاوید انورکی خدمات کو سراہنے کے حوالے سے تقریب میں بھی شرکت کی ۔ انہوں نے کمیونٹی کے ممتاز ممبران ، اکنا تنظیم کے وفد سے بھی ملاقات کی ، اور ہیوسٹن کرانیکل کے ساتھ ساتھ پاکستانی چینلز کے ساتھ میڈیا سے بات چیت کی۔قونصل جنرل ابرار ایچ ہاشمی اور پاکستانی قونصلیٹ جنرل ، ہیوسٹن کے ممبران نے اپنی مصروفیات کے دوران سفیر کی مدد کی۔
Houston: Dr. Asad Majeed Khan, Ambassador of Pakistan to the United States, paid an official visit to Houston, Texas on 25-26 January 2020. The Ambassador was invited to speak at the 10th Annual Retreat of the American Pakistan Foundation (APF) – a leading community organization working to empower the diaspora and strengthen Pak-U.S. relations.
In his remarks, Ambassador Khan lauded the contributions of the Foundation, particularly its Chairman, Mr. Riaz Siddiqui and President, Ms. Shamila Chaudhary on bringing together the community from all over the U.S. and harnessing the potential of the youth. He also shared views on the current state of Pakistan-U.S. bilateral ties, the regional political situation as well as the improved economy and security situation in Pakistan. He emphasized that Pakistan remained committed towards building an enduring partnership with the U.S. across all spheres including education, innovation agriculture, and energy.
The Ambassador particularly emphasized the positive trajectory of the relationship which had brought about three summit-level meetings between President Trump and Prime Minister Imran Khan since July 2019. He thanked the community for lending full support in condemning India’s barbaric actions in Indian Occupied Jammu & Kashmir, particularly in U.S. Congress.
Among his other engagements, the Ambassador attended an event honoring the achievements and contributions of prominent Pakistani American Syed Javed Anwar. He also met a delegation of ICNA, prominent members of the community, and had media interactions with the Houston Chronicle as well as Pakistani channels.
Consul General Abrar H. Hashmi and members of the Pakistani Consulate General, Houston assisted the Ambassador during his engagements.
